DRAMBORA

In 2011 I pursued a Masters degree in Library and Information Studies, with a focus on moving-image and digital archiving and digital preservation. It was something very different from my day job, though I still managed to sneak in some design work.

In the course of my studies, I was tasked—as part of a group exercise—with conducting a Digital Repository Audit Method Based on Risk Assessment (DRAMBORA) on a local archival institution. DRAMBORA, for short, is an in-depth review of the policies and procedures that an institution has put in place in order to carry out its mandate with regard to the preservation of its digital resources. Rather than submit a dry report, rendered entirely in bureaucratese, I designed a infographic-laden document that better illustrated our findings.
